My Parkinsons and Osteo Arthritis DIDN'T WIN!
I am still undefeated in court and arbitration for 40 years and my Agreed Value appraisals have always been accepted.

We stopped the Long Beach restoration shop in 1986. I stopped racing and trading cars in 1992. I can't even climb into a Formula Lotus or Lola anymore. I've owned and/or run 12 Lotus', 14 Lolas, 3 Marches, 3 Merlyns, 2 Ferraris, 2 Maseratis plus many others.

I've never been defeated in court. Either a total win or a 'split the difference' from the Judge or Arbitrator. I recommend
American National, Hagarty, Condon & Skelly, J.C. Taylor and companies with Agreed Value policies to insure your collector car.
My other pages will deal more with automotive nostalgia.

First.  A little video and song from 1969

I had licensed my Costin-Lister-Corvette racecar for the street. I hope to load a video of our first street shakedown of the car on Silverlake streets. My girlfriend had moved to Carmel and I just HAD to see her! I foolishly drove the Lister from L.A. to Carmel with illusions like ' painting it flat black would make it less visible to radar'.  Of course that doesn't work but I was exceptionally lucky to have not been stopped. I was not a very clever lad at the time. I was writing for Warner Bros, Music at the time and used the Lister to go to meetings and recording sessions. I sold the car to John Harper who brought it back to deserved honor

I have appraised collector vehicles for over thirty years and come from a background in the automotive business of over fifty years as a salesman, sales manager, dealer, marketing director, racer and team manager. My first race was at Willow Springs in 1957.  My last at Palm Springs in 1991. As an expert witness in valuation, authenticity, carbon fiber damage and hidden assets, I know that I can't say this forever, I have never lost a case.

Our Lola T-320 in Autocross form and Roadracing trim, with and without sidepods. Two Autocross Championships.

T-497 Cosworth. Note the scoops and wing.

Check the other Photo pages of the 14 Lolas, 12 Lotus', Various Ferrari, Maserati, Scarab, Elva, Abarth, British, U.S., Italian and German cars I've owned, run and/or messed with over the years.

Today I don't own jack and multiple G-forces make my back tweek out, but I was the winningest appraiser on the block..

------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.  Learning to drive my Father's 1949 Singer 9 at 13 in 1953 on a roadcourse he was designing in Agoura. A 1949 car with 1100cc single overhead cam motor but no synchromesh gears, running mechanical brakes! No hydraulics. I drove at 14 from Indio to Nogales, Mexico through sandstorms and roads with stray burros, chickens and sheep. A good learning experience.

2.  Our 1962 Ferrari SWB for driving the kids to school and 'goin' fast' in 1972. Unusual with it's GTB headlights and Lusso tail lights and rear window.
The original owner had damage in Torino and took it to Neri & Bonnaccini.

Our other School Bus. King Saud's one of a kind Ghia-Mercedes 300. Armoured. Two radio generators in the trunk. Very heavy and slow. It's back in Germany now with a book written about it.

Our Long Beach shop in 1983. Restoring classics, racecars and bikes. The car in front is actually a McLaren Mk4a in disguise. Tom Callicott built the body in his backyard

At our Long Beach shop we've owned, restored and appraised sports and luxury cars, rods and customs and all types of collector vehicles. From Alvis to Zil.

The Elva Courier wasn't running. "Quen sabes?" "Hindi ko alam!

"

1986. Vintage Merlyn with ex-roomate and top horserace jockey, Rachel Goodgame.
